Hello:
I have 2 pcīs, a workstation (WS) an a rendernode (RN), and 2 monitors, the primary 22" (P) and the secondary 19" (S), so: My intention is to work in the "WS" with the two monitors and when needed swith the "S" monitor to de "RN". to achieve this i have just conected the "S" monitor to bouth machines and can switch them with the INPUT buttom in the "S" monitor. But the problem that iīve found is that when setting the dual monitor in the card software (Nvidia 8800 GTS) to span mode, so i can split the image in the 2 monitors, i can only set the resolution to 1280x1024 with is the 19" resolution, but canīt adjust them diferently as i would like (1680x1050 for the 22") Is there another way to set up this? do i have to use another software to use dual monitors? is it possible to use to diferent size/resolution monitors in dual mode? Thank you |

I'm not sure why you aren't able to change the resolution independently.
I connect 2 Workstations to dual monitors via a Belkin KVM. I also have a Macbook Pro that I connect to one of the monitors. Under 'Display Properties' all I do is select the 2nd Monitor in the window and check the 'Extend my Windows..' box and viola, I can set each monitor to different resolutions. I also suggest investing in a KVM that supports dual monitors and USB input devices. Good luck

Than you kainoa:
That solve the problem, i was tring to do it trough Nvidia control panel, and i couldnīt configure the two monitors independient, but it was very easy the way you said, besides you can change to order of the monitors and thatīs sweet. Now i just have to figure out how to color calibrate bouth monitors to the same level, i just canīt do it manually. Than you. |

Another question.
I already have an Nvidia 7300GS, i guess would be better to install that card to the workstation to display the second monitor, instead of forcing the 8800GTS to display bouth of them, I am rigth? Than you |
