I'm doing a sunlight shadow study for a city block. I got two questions:
1. Can you animate the sunlight system to go from 8am to 8 pm? When I go to the modify panel for the light, I don't see such option. 2. If I cannot animate the light, is there a way to change the time of day without having to create a new light everytime? Thanks all I'm using Viz 2008 |

The answer to both your questions is Yes. 1. to change or animate the settings of the sunlight system you must go to the motion panel. Here you can edit the times, dates etc. of the light. You can set keyframes at 8am, move the timeline on a few frames and set another keyframe for 8pm and the sunlight system will animate the light around your object in a semi accurate way. I say semi accurate because I don't know how accurate Autodesk's system is. 2. Yes, see above. |
