Default Viz 2008 user paths and render farms

Am I losing my mind? Is there no way to update the user paths on my render farm in Viz 2008?

There's no 3dsviz.ini file which made adding map paths in previous versions quite easy. But in Viz 2008 the only way I can see to do it is use the portable license utility to activate each render farm pc seperatly and update the user paths. There has got to be an easiar way of doing it than this.

Any body got any ideas?

Please?

Anybody?

For MAX 9 and upwards (which includes VIZ2008) the configuration files are stored in sub-directories under your user profile - eg C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Autodesk\ - check there for the 3dsviz.ini file.

There's also another ini file names "installsettings.ini" that has a line "useUserProfile" if you set it to 0, it will install the same way as the older versions.

Thanks

Did you try a search for the 3dsviz.ini file?

Do you have this file on your local workstation? If so - try copying it into the VIZ directory on the slaves.
