---------------------------------------------------------------- SHORT TITLE FOR SUGGESTION/BUG/ENHANCEMENT REQUEST ---------------------------------------------------------------- Blending modes for Layered texture. A short title for your suggestion. (This should also be the name of your new thread) --------------------------------------------------------------- DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF YOUR REQUEST --------------------------------------------------------------- Blending texture in add or screen or multiply etc modes like photoshop. Many other software (Softimage XSI, Lightwave) have this feature. For example it is easy to hide tiling with blending layered texture. If we have tiled bricks texture we Just need to add dirt texture by another UV in multyply mode. The best plugin for it by VG here (it`s not promo or advertismetn, just to show you how it realised in thirdparty plugin) --------------------------------------------------------------- WHY THIS REQUEST IS IMPORTANT TO YOU --------------------------------------------------------------- This feature can save memory usage by minimization amount of textur i use. I also will be able change size of image for minimization memory usage. It`s very useful just tweak some settings in max and don`t use photoshop for it.

Playing Devil's Advocate here I'm not sure that Autodesk would go for this one as there are at least a couple of 3rd party plugins that do this already (VG as you point out and finalShaders fR-Layer material for starters). Also there are plugins that let MAX load PSD files. So I can't see them developing their own version - its not very good for the 3rd party plugin developers if Autodesk just go and kill your market. I could see them buying one of the 3rd party plugins and integrating that as they have a long history of doing.

so if we talk about legal usage of plugin it takes more money and it`s not in advantages of autodesk. it doesn`t bother me if they buy or develop it )))

I am sorry if I missed the point, or don't know what I am talking about, but, Isn't that what vr blend mtl does. You add layer on layer with masking maps if necessary. Am I wrong?
