Default VRay material

After going through some tips of the material issue and tried some test, I felt the material set up in Vray is much easier than we had in 3DMAX and more effective. The glass material for the curtain wall could be a good example. Do you guys agree with me?

I think the most consuming time we need to have is to play with Vray in configuring GI. What is your opinion for this?

I am new in VRay. Hope some of you guys can show me sth and we make progress together.

I'm not sure what you are asking in the first part of your post.

For me personally, I feel that getting my lighting right is the biggest time consumer. I am trying to make my scenes alot more natural looking and for this I depend on the PhysicalCamera and as little lights as possible.

You can check out these two websites for some tips on materials:

Thanks, Joseph:

The website for the material is pretty good. I have begun to download some from it and learn from it.

Sorry for not clearly explained what I meant. In my previous post, I said "The glass material for the curtain wall could be a good example. Do you guys agree with me?". What I meant is we need to do alot of twisting for a convincing glass material in VIZ. ( here is the example: http://www.cgarchitect.com/upclose/article31_TB.asp)But in VRay, since the relfection parameter is very emphasized, the process to make a good glass material is much more simplified.

Does it make sense?
