Default Compositing Hair and Fur - edge antialiasing problems?

How are you supposed to do a composite with Hair and Fur? I've gone through the online manual and done all sorts of test renderings, but I always end up with dark edges of all hairs, so the compositing looks ugly.

See enclosed image.

Using Render Elements doesn't help.

Rendering hair only and saving as a png with alpha channels doesn't help

Going to Customize > Preferences > Rendering and then turn on Filter Background in the Background Antialiasing group doesn't help.

Changing to various Composite Method under Render Effects doesn't help.

I'm getting desperate! :-)

Both default scanline and mental ray gives me the same result... I would prefer mental ray if possible.

Any ideas?

Cheers Rob

IN Photoshop...
click on your hair layer
then in Menu--->Layer-->Matting--Remove White(black) matte

In your case, Remove Black Matte.
Have a nice day
