SHORT TITLE FOR SUGGESTION/BUG/ENHANCEMENT REQUEST ---------------------------------------------------------------- measuring distances and angles with line objects --------------------------------------------------------------- DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF YOUR REQUEST --------------------------------------------------------------- in max6 and in max7 you could measure distances, angles and deltas with line objects. When line creating mode status line contain all these information. It appears status line in max8-max2008 too, but until you turn on snapping, because when snapping is turned on and line is creating along other objects status line shows object's name at which snaps current vertex of spline. Without snapping all measuring lost it's reason, with snapping you can't read it because of snapped object's name that overwrite measuring info. --------------------------------------------------------------- WHY THIS REQUEST IS IMPORTANT TO YOU --------------------------------------------------------------- It is important because there isn't another way to measure distances, angles and deltas in space bigger than space that shows current viewport in one operation. You can't do it with tape, which doesn't show deltas nor by rectangle which shows delta, but without distances or angles. Measuring with lines was very smart improvement in max6, but in higher version of max this was spoiled by doubtful feature showing snapped object's name |
