Even do I will not sell my lightscape's. Just wanted to comment on it.
I do believe it was the best lighting simulator and unfortunately for us that really love it. it was bought by Autodesk... I have had lightscape since version 2 when it was not from autodesk and support really was good you could actually talk to someone there… Not to mention when it went to autodesk.... As for selling it. Never, it’s something I will just keep there even if it’s useless. Just like I have my old 3ds 2 Dos... he I can’t help to imagine were will lightscape be now with all the technology improvements if it would not have been sold. Hmm I guess we will never know. I wish we could find information on the people who originally made it. I have in the past try to look for information on the web but can’t find anything about it. It would be nice to read and see the history of it. I remember when it was only of sgi computers and when they introduced to the pc market that is when I jump at it… does anyone know of site with history about it? Wouldn’t it be nice to have a competition of lightscape only images? Guillermo Leal. |

Dude! Your works alone sold a lot of copies of LS. Did a quick search and found:
http://www.jerrypournelle.com/report...d_ems_page.htm It is just a bit of history but there is mention of the original creator and the company that was Lightscape Technologies, Inc. Some Greenberg Don guy at Cornell...Don Greenberg’s research in the field of radiosity rendering at Cornell http://accad.osu.edu/~waynec/history/lesson5.html That should get you started. Ismael |
