Merge Bug

SHORT TITLE FOR SUGGESTION/BUG/ENHANCEMENT REQUEST ---------------------------------------------------------------- Merge Bug --------------------------------------------------------------- DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF YOUR REQUEST --------------------------------------------------------------- Since version 3 I have found the merge to file function to be somewhat shaky. Despite working with different computers, files, operating systems, and versions of Max, from time to time the same bug appears - when selecting 'file' 'merge', and selecting the object to merge, max will display an error forcing me to close it. --------------------------------------------------------------- WHY THIS REQUEST IS IMPORTANT TO YOU --------------------------------------------------------------- Firstly, this causes me to loose my work up to the point of my last save, (which I often do before merging in anticipation of this bug). This is an obvious inconvenience. Secondly, it looks bad if I do it in front of a client and the program throws up an error message and crashes. Rather than focussing on introducing new features, (many of which I never need to use), I would prefer to see the next version boasting 'drastically improved performance and stability'.
