Default Re: 'Unfolding' complex mesh in Cinema 4D

I use rhino extensively and the plug you're hearing of is actually a command called unrollsrf (unroll developable surface) it works well for both singly-curved and planar surfaces. I've used it to translate complex geometry to cut sheets so that I can build scale models, it works flawlessly. One thing to consider: it "flattens" a surface to the construction plane, but does so in relation to the surface normal. If you don't keep track of which way your normals are facing than you might end up with a shape that is mirrored, if that makes any sense. Luckily, there's a flip command you can apply before using the unrollsrf command that easily takes care of that. good luck.
