Not sure about the proper name, but how can I achieve that type of rendering with VIZ ?
I just want the easiest one, everything's white, with black lines in the edges....thats it. I couldn't find info for this, except some mental ray contour shader tut on 3dtotal. that quite worked, but it didnt actually rendered all the edges, tried rendering at bigger resolutions, and you get more details, but still there are lots of edges not showing up. |

VRay Toon is in the Environment/Atmosphere rollout.
Sorry, I didn't see that VRay wasn't mentioned in your post. (Too many threads in my head.) |

I use the finaltoon plugin or toss it in sketchup... Both are very nice 'hand replicators'
Here is finaltoon... notice the depth que thickness on the lines as well (thicker in the foreground thinner in the background): ![]() I like to use finaltoon even in material correct renderings to 'soften' them.. There is something about a little hand faking that really relaxes a client (if you know what I mean). It takes them out of the 'is that a real photo' mindset... ![]() Detail (the sharp black lines on the glass (right) were also done with a finaltoon material): ![]() Last edited by upshot; February 13th, 2008 at 01:16 PM. |

The "ink 'n' paint" is a MR shader I beleive. You will have to mess around with the settings a bit and maybe render in passes to get the look you desire, but the render time will be very fast when you get the settings nailed.
