That depends on what you want on the other end. There is a command-line utility that comes with LS (or it was a 'free item' that was on their site, I don't remember which) called makeavi.exe which will do this. It either uses compression, and a lot of it, or there is a -nc switch that uses none. Controling the framerate is a difficult task, but it can be done.

But for editing software I use Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere. There are others, like one from Discreet Combustion, I think, and Avid. These are all very good software that let you put together digital video as you want, transitions, effects, sound...

Hi Ernest,

thanks a lot for the quick reply.
i'm using a shareware program called avimaker, but it is pretty limited (but it was easier to use than makeavi.exe). i was just wondering if there are other programs who convert sequenced stillimages into avi's

thanks
Gerhard

maybe vitualdub? Not sure if it can load sequence of images like Premiere or AfterFX, but it's free.

That's funny. I think After Effects is not intuitive, but it does things I need to do that Premiere can't. I find Premiere intuitive.

lol....maybe it's cause that's the first "post" product I used, and I use just the basic features....

essentially, all I usually do is create a new file, load the sections of the animations (grouped bmp), layer them sequentially, add a watermark with the "screen" overlay...set the rendering, and hit render...SUUUUUUPER basic

hi There

Gerhard,

what software are you using? VIZ 3/4 has a Ram Player that you can load a series of still Images and then output to a avi file (which can be converted to a mpg - freeware utility somewhere)

say i just moved from Phx to Mesa, give a yell sometime. my 9 year old is bugging me to teach him Animation, he plays Violin and digital keyboard (somewhat)

Thanks

Randy
