I'm doing a lawn made from Hair and fur, and to speed things up I would like to disable shadow casting for the grass and only make the grass receive shadows from other objects.
Going to the growth object's properties and unchecking Receive shadows doesn't help... is there another way of disabling shadows? I'm lighting the exterior scene with a daylight system, so I can't use Exclude for the sun (?) Robert |

That's the problem... it doesn't work :-( I think it does when using "buffer" hairs, but not for "mr prim"... Only the growth object (a simple plane) stops casting shadows.
Similarly, turning off Renderable for the growth object leaves the hair unaffected (it still renders) |
