To what extent is that allowed? How much of the primitive can be sunk bearing in mind that the part that is sunk will not be visible in the final image?

As much as you want. The idea is to use the shapes to create new and creative shapes. As long as the original shape's geometry is not changed, you can pretty much do whatever you want with them.

Ok my last question and Im outta here
So basically if ive got a shape that (say and extruded outlined arc) I can sink it as far as I want in a box, so that the remaining visible part is just a tip of its base? Thanks.

There's a true story at MIT, about an alum who decides to write a novel. Deciding that simply writing a novel is too easy, he ties back the lever for the E key on his typewriter (as this story predates the personal computer) and then proceeds to write a book without using the letter E.
It's a challenge, but he succeeds, and perhaps at times gains from the lack of a letter. How else would he have come up with such sentences as "It is an odd kink of humanity which cannot find any valuation in spots of natural glory"? Doing this model, I now understand how he must have felt. |

Jeff, one query - the requirements suggest that the winners have to attend the full conference. Are competitors able to attend for just a couple of days rather than the full week? Cheers, Derek |
