Default Flavio Ochoa Final

Guys this is the final image.
I am just sorry that i didnt have more time to tweak it as i wanted....as i wont have acess to a computer for a while and i have a plane to catch in few hours...
I will also post some quick views that i have done that will explain hopefullybit more the concept... and the animation should help later...

Hope you like it.

Congrats on finishing the image on time.

The concept is very nice, I really like the organic lattice on the glass.

The composition would look better if you left more space to the left - a thin stripe that would move the smaller building so that it doesnt 'touch' the edge of your image.
The Hercules Tower looks like its made out of red bricks here - (probably the lighting is creating a red tint). Either way it looks nice and adds to the whole image (perphaps stands out a little, little too much in the blue sky).

The smaller building has a sort of wax/candle feel to it - its the way it is lit. I like it, just reminds me of a SSS shader.

It looks like a lot of people swim in kayacks around here - only the marina is nowhere to be seen (j/k)

Nice overall! Good luck!!

Ps. I feel that more work could have gone into the water material and the cliffs.

Hi Flavio...

Very nice image. i like the color scheme very much. nice sky but i think the environmrnt light is not properly matched with it. over all its too dark. I like your design very much its really appropriate but lack deatail.
if we look closely on the right we can see some people are floating. like your floral texture on the glass and the red light tint inside. the self illuminated interior is cool in front. but your ground texures are too large and blurry if you notice. that volume light from the tower should be more naturlal with good source.

people need some bigger boats if they want to sail on the open ocean thats ok with River.

Good Job!! over all. Good Luck!!

Hi Flavio,

I can see you have obviously had some time constraints on this project. I do like your image a lot. I think the concept is very good and the organic shapes work well. Its very different to the angular shapes of the tower but i like the contrast between the two design styles.
Lighting ideas are nice and colouring works well, but it just needs that extra few days to have worked up the landscape and environment. The sea does look more like a lake as it's very calm and the scale looks a bit off.
I would have left out the characters in the boats as i think (as i mentioned before) its hard to get the same quality with characters unless you have lots of time to texture.
I think it works well as a conceptual image rather than a photoreal image and look forward to seeing more development in the animation stage.

Good Luck!

Flavio,
congrats on the image. Your building design is one of my favourites - can't wait to see it up close in the animation.

However, I think it's a shame that my eye keeps getting drawn to the low res terrain texture, as it's one of the lightest parts of the image. I would've liked to see it developed a little. I also feel the rowers and calm water combine to give the feel of a boating lake rather than the sea. (and would rowers be out that late at night?! )

I feel you could've chosen a view that explains your building better, or at least shows more of it. I hate to say it, but I feel that the second image (the sketch study) is the more successful of the two images you've posted in terms of colouring and focus, as there's little in it to distract from the tower and building.

Looking forward to seeing inside the structure in the animation!

Flavio,

Your design is my favorite one. I think that it has all the elements to make it interesting, engaging the tower and at the same time preserving the view to the tower intact. Neddless to say, my expectations were high. I am not sure if this view is helping you visualize your concept. I would have preffered one of the early views you were exploring in your WIP. The rendering feels incomplete as it is right now. The texture and lighting work were neglected to say the less. The composition is very nice though. The overall mood of your piece is nice. I was just expecting to see it finished.

Good luck with the animation!

Guys

Sorry to have not reply early but have been extremly busy.
Thank you all for your comments and sorry to have not reply to all individually,
I will do that on the animations.
Such a shame that deadline interfeer with work deadlines

Hope work will leave me some time to complete the second part and develop a bit more the scheme....

Anyway let me have a look at your animations and leave some comments too

Flavio, you have the makings of a really nice image here. The first thing I noticed is the composition - I really want to see land meet water and sky to the right of the frame. I think that would really complete the gesture and connect all the important elements in this project - design, tower, land and water. Perhaps a bit more breathing room to the left of the image would help anchor the element seems to be carved out of the cliff as well.

Your design is elegant in its simplicity and the forms complement the site and tower quite nicely. Image wise, I would love to see more glow from your structure. The piece to the right of the tower that's bathed in subtle red light reads very well but I lose the rest of it as it goes dark. Lastly, with regards to lighting, the tower itself deserves a bit more attention. Parts of it go almost completely to black. I think that having it read as a silhouette is not a bad choice, but some more environment light would help it pop a bit more. It is after all an important element of the parti.

My instincts tell me that the kayakers are not necessary. I really like seeing small silhouettes on land but the kayaks, particularly the one on the bottom left, are distracting.
