Default Good Render Farm- XEON e5420, Phenom9850 or core2quad6600

Hi,

I'm building a computer only for rendering.
It will be first render node/nodes in our office.

I was thinking about 3 options :

1. 3x AMD Phenom 9850 Black Edition 2.5Ghz, 4GB ram, winxp x64, 12 cores total- basically 3 standard computers for DR in Vray. In future will be 8 nodes/computers

2. 1x INTEL Xeon e5420 dual quad 2.5Ghz, 4GB ram, winxp x64, 8 cores total - In future will be 4 nodes/computers

and last option, similar or maybe better that first? , :
3. 3x INTEL core2quad 6600 2.4Ghz, 4GB ram, winxp x64, 12 cores total. In future will be 8 nodes/computers

Which config will be faster for rendering? Price is almost the same for 3 configs. What do you think?

Thanks in advance
Greg

Don't know the other CPUs, but I've OCed my Q6600 from 2.4 to 3.3 without any stability problem, running weeks nonstop, with a $200 (i think) board - the Gigabyte DS4. And OC really shows up in render times. But if I were getting a new PC, I'd most probably get the C2Quad Q9450. 20 percent faster than the Q6600, and even more overclockable.
