Default orbit to work in preview

how do you get the orbit view to work in preview panes.
i see pans and zooms but no option for 3d views of the elements

3D button to above the workspace, you can then use "tile" from "window menu to navigate between your views

actually what I meant was the conponent preview
only see plan and crossection veiw and the ussual pan and zoom
no orbit
