Default Viz 2008 32 bit vs. 3d Max 2008 64 Bit

Can Viz 2008 32bit open 3d max 2008 64 bit files? The file is less then 2 mb but fails to open. The max has vray but the viz does not. Help!!

No, because Viz 2008 is the Viz equivalent of Max 9 and Max 2008 is AKA Max 10. Your Max 2008 file is one version newer and therefore won't open.

The versioning scheme here is pretty messed up.

Max file version compatibility has been a giant pain for years. They also don't include the ability to save down a file to a previous version.
