Vray Camera & Sun produce BLACK Shadows

Hi all,
I've been experimenting with LELE method and its the first time using the vray camera and vray sun. I keep on getting very dark shadows. I say dark I mean black with no gradient tranparency in it. Is this normal? Is there a way to reduce this?

Is your sun a vray sun? Do you have GI on? Have you posted on the chaosgroup forums?

It's probably worth posting your scene for us to have a look at.

Try dragging the VRaySky from the environment slot into the Skylight override
