Hi...
I tried a few tips and tricks and walk-throughs on here to get my 2:1 ratio spherical JPG converted into a QuickTime movie. I finally decided upon PanoCube and I downloaded all the files and copied DLLs to system32, etc, and it makes a MOV and a HTM file, but the QuickTime player is just blank when I browse to it online or run it from my hard drive. I had a flash of inspiration and fired up my laptop (which has XP Pro) and copied the PanoCube folder from my QuadCore's c: drive to it's c: drive. It converted the file fine and when I double-clicked the HTM, I could see the interactive QuickTime just fine! I quickly copied the 2 files to my memory stick and shut the laptop down properly before the batteries went flat. I whacked them back onto the QuadCore and - still cannot seem them even though I have QuickTime Pro 7.x installed. Thinking it's just a 64-bit incompatibility issue, can I ask someone to check my logic and my interactive QuickTime and tell me if it viewable on their particular setup and what that setup is (i.e. Windows XP Pro, IE7)? If it is a 64-bit incompatibility, has anyone heard if Apple wants to tap into the remaining 90% market share and release a version for 64-bit? Here is the link: http://www.dhimaging.com.au/3D/ArchViz/vt1/PAN-01B.htm Thanking you... |

21 views and no one can click the link and say "Yeah it works" or "no it doesn't"?
Sorry - just been trying to figure out a solution (if there is one) and a bit frustrated. Any feedback on the quicktime is appreciated. |

Thanks Rawla...
sigh. That's really too bad. I emailed a few mates and they all have Vista (32 and 64-bit) and none of them can see it at all. The opening splash screen for QuickTime, but that's it. I even tried VLC, but it just quickly plays all 6 'sides' of the image and then stops. That's a real bummer. That pretty much closes the door (for now, at least) on even the Model Object rotation, so you can look at a model from many angles and have the camera rotate around it. I wonder if Microsoft's Silver Light will fill in the niche? I've installed it, but I've never been to a site (that I know of) that ever uses it. Thanks again Anuj. |

Hello Joel,
I have the same problem here. WinXP 64 is really annoying with quicktime AND Flash (I can't see most websites done with the latest version of flash For my Quicktime VR, I found a very very VERY nice tool : http://www.devalvr.com/paginas/productos/index.html The interface and navigation is sooooo much better and more fluid than Quicktime. Check it out, it's free. Keep making the .mov with Panotool, then drag and drog your .mov onto the DevalVR player, and enjoy! Cheers, |

I've been able to drag a .MOV file into a web browser and it play.
I've also been able to double-click a web page LOCALLY and get the embedded file to play. Can't do it on the net yet. Just got a bunch of tutorials and material for my second week of my online ArchViz class, so the quicktime web page project will have to wait a few days. But if it plays LOCALLY from my c: drive, then it should be playable online. I'll let you know how I go. Here is the stripped down HTML file: Code:
<html> <center> <EMBED SRC="PAN-01A.mov" WIDTH="800" HEIGHT="600"> </EMBED> </center> </html> Thanks! |

And the above example now works online!!
http://www.dhimaging.com.au/3D/ArchViz/vt1/PAN-01B.htm it loads a really big window and I can smoothly pan around. So Very Happy. I used the code above. I think I needed to reboot my computer to get the plug-in to work. And the full screen mode is SO SWEET! |

Hello Joel,
I'm afraid this doesn't work with WinXP 64bits Did you use the plugin from devalDR? I don't think so. from your HTML code, it looks like you just placed your .mov inside the webpage. Sorry for the bad news |
