$150 is typo right? $1500 for larger companies who can afford and would export more and $600 for smaller comapnies who can afford less and don't-can't have higher expectations cause thier homes aren't as 'expensive'.

150-600 and hangin' the little guy out to dry on price and being proud of it, LOL doesn't make much sense nor does charging 6-7k for some make the $150 number fit any normal sales structures...unless it's a Walmart discount to get you into Macy's kind of approach

Sorry for digging this up, but lol $150 for a single rendering ?? what does it consist of ?? a box and a sphere ? rendered in scanline??
I must recall this , do you guys live in a tent or under the bridge ??
hopefully there is a river near by so you can catchs some fish to eat while you're at it
Dude $700 - $2400 per shot depending on complexity of the requested project ..., charging that low it's simply embarrasing and makes no sense.
No offence , just straight facts

No guys seriously $150 for big home builders, this is cookie cutter assembly line stuff. It is not anything amazing but gets the job done for a client who does anywhere from 40-50 homes a given month. Plus, it keeps us busy in between the times where we have tough projects.

Look we are not retail, there is no such thing as wallmart companies or macy's company's here. You just have to know what works for you, the client you serve and how effectively you manage production in house.

man you must have an army of guys working for you overseas,
that is the lowest price I heard of for doing anything in 3D,
I would charge that for a logo quick concept/draft working in 2D,
just wondering what is the hourly wage that you pay your employees?
strange, that's how people lose money and make the market bad for others, but hey no offence that is my theory.
Here in CA for a semi nice condo visualization you charge minimum $600
for 150 sorry they would pay me 8 dollars per hour

Cheers mate,

Andrew

Glad this thread got picked back up. I'm curious about the business and the possibility of starting a viz company.

I can't imagine how you get by charging $150 for an image. I don't work in the industry. I've done some contract drafting but I doubt I could model, texture, render, composite, print and deliver an image in two hours. And that would be a low rate for an architect. I justify it by the fact that my certification is one rung down on the ladder from registered architect (in our province).

As an employee on salary. If the bosses were not going to profit on my work, and there were no office overhead, and we had perfect CAD plans, and there were no changes, I still couldn't work on that in our current office for even a day. Maybe four or five hours. Probably three or four.

Do you limit them to one camera view and you have a revit template setup all of their supplier's windows and doors modelled ahead of time. If so, do you charge them when they change to the cheaper window manufacturer and you have to change things in the template? I suppose you could have a modeled library in your 3d package; please excuse the reference to revit.

I've seen the 10 minute house video for revit on you tube, so maybe, but how could the image be marketable?

I'm interested in the link to the website to see the images. Didn't find it in the thread

hi,
i usually charge per project.
400-700 euros, interior or exterior, up to 8-12 views.
being an architect myself, i like to finish the project in every aspect, (modeling, lighting, texturing) for all elements, so rendering extra shots is no problem at all.
my clients are local (greece), but i would like to expand and work as a freelancer.
could someone point out a job-site?
(other than cgarchitect, i've seen lots of ads but mainly for max users.)
regards,
george

i dont know how about your coutry but in my country the price is 150-250/view for interior, 280-600usd/view for exterior, 40usd/second for animation.I think StudioRendering told the true. But this price for long term coorperate with 4-10 model/month. it's not kidding.
