hi guys,
i was trying to figure how to create the vertical hologram projection effect with mr, any ideas? from the real-life examples, a mixture of different colors are projected, creating the translucent shape of the object. |

Technically a hologram is a volumetric effect, so depending on how difficult you want to make it, try the parti-volume shader
Id rather play with mapping the image onto a plane with varying levels of opacity and translucency. jhv |

Even those savvy folks at ILM do it in post but if you're up for the challenge of doing it with mental ray, all the best.
Here's a link to a quick "how-to" guide using After Effects. http://www.computerarts.co.uk/tutori...hologram_scene |
