Good morning ...
I know, looong time no post... lots of things to do... also my first daughter I am not very experienced in modeling... but now I need to model a capitonnč leather panel.. for an interior shot of a shop... I've searched the net for a tutorial (polymodeling i suppose) but neither... I've also used a displacement map, but I don't get it right... someone can help me , please ? attached is a photo sample of what I need thanks in advance Gabriella |

Thanks for the reply...
I also know this tutorial... but the panel is sligthly different from the one I have to model.. and modeling with patches is really a pain for me... In addition the tutorial here is not complete... does not show how to create the seams between the bottons... I was thinking that with box modeling or polymodeling was simpler and with minor polycount... no one know other methods?? thanks again GA Quote:

Thanks to all
the "russian" method is interesting... but quite complicated... finally I've drawn a displacement map.. quite nice result...but not for closer look. No one has other modeling suggestion? thanks again Gabriella |

gabriella, check my post in the link jophus14 provided...there i attached some pictures of my method to model such an object, it's far simpler than the russian method and it works quite well, look at this theater view i just finished, it has some cushion panels:
