Default A Side Table

Hi,

I did this scene yesterday to practice my texturing skills. It was inspired by an image from a furniture catalog. I modeled everything in Rhino except for the flower specimens, which are from Toucan. It is all very simple geometry. I was also trying out the new plugin object property, Edge Softening. I used it on the table objects, the floor planks and the partition frame.

I rendered it with Fryrender. The lighting is an hdri in the Environment slot.

Let me know what you think.

Very impressif.
Textures and lighting are really good and I would believe it was a real picture.
This is the level that I would love to have myself.

Please keep on making stuff like this.

Well, that's about as close to perfect as anything I've seen. Love the floor. Great work!

Excellent stuff - very impressive!

So is the ribbed glass a texture, or did you model it?

Amazing work, perfect, yet simple, modelling. Good composition! And the texturing... it speaks for itself.

Thanks everyone for your nice comments.

Tunde, I corrected the perspective and toned down the orange flowers just a bit in Photoshop. I was trying SSS on the flowers and well, I need to work on that.

Derek, the glass is a dielectric material with an IOR of 1.07 to reduce refraction, and a striped bitmap in the bump channel.

Love it, esp. the variations in the floorboards...simple to do but it makes such a huge difference. Keep 'em comin'!
