Hi there, I’ve just started using cinema 4d for rendering. I am architectural based and import my archicad models in cinema 4d. Can anyone suggest or recommend any books or magazine on advanced rendering and lighting, preferably connected with architectural rendering.
Regards Tom |

Not much out there as far as I am aware. I took up Cinema last September and struggled to find anything architecturally based. The only tutorials I could find were mainly for modeling obscure objects. You may want to consider getting VRay for Cinema 4D, it produces great images and there is some good forum support out there for it. You can look at some VRay Cinema images at www.VRAYforC4D.com

If you're using Advanced Render, Cinema's built in rendering engine, you can't beat this old but very informative tutorial. It does a great job of introducing the basic concepts.
There are also some great video tutorials produced by 3DFluff. Volumes 1, 2, and 4 are appropriate for architectural work. If you specifically want a book, the Cinema 4D Workshop by Arndt Koenigsmarck is very clearly written, but it covers several other subjects in addition to rendering. Finally, this book sounds great but I haven't read it. Hope this helps. Jack

Hey thanks for all your advice. i think i will try and find a bit more about that book you suggested. Starting to get to grips with the advanced render but at the moment my renders seem to look as if they are images of rooms during a sun rise or sun set. Still trying to attempt day renders within a room. Not to sure if i have to add internal lights etc.
Cheers guys |
