The overall mood is very nice and it's a beautiful home. I think the reflections are the biggest problem right now. They are way too strong for the angle we're looking at them.
The color of the wood looks a little too saturated to me too.
Awesome job

there should be a walkway to the entrance? and maybe the grass can do with some random variations other than a square cut...or maybe they prefer squarecut ...how about a different sky?

Looks really great! However....the rainstorm that's coming doesn't really match the lighting on the facade. The wood shutters are a bit too saturated, the curved shingle roof on the dormer is an odd detail, and some of the plants don't seem right. Other than that, right on!

yeah, the background is my hdri map. the reflections from it look great on the materials, but it looks odd as a background.

this is vray

if i change the background, the materials reflect the wrong color, how do i get around this? override reflection map in environment tab?

not sure how

You can always chop it out in PS using the alpha channel and swap out different backgrounds at will until you find something you like, or use blending modes/adjustment layers.

i can never get that to work without leaving this halo of antialiased pixels. if i do expand and feather the selection it messes up the foliage.

Use the polygonal lasso tool (L)...may take you 20 mins. but if you zoom in really close and take your time it will be worth it. Good luck!

Is that a fire in the backyard? Or a huge mother storm?
