Default 3d max crashing

im getting some real weird crashing with 3d max. ill crash out of a scene and upon reopening it, half of the objects are moved to 0,0,0 while some stay where they were. some of the objects are rotated. even stranger, when i go to open backups, they are all screwed up too.

i saved my file on friday, batch rendered over the weekend, and came back to work this morning and made some modifications. after an hour, i crashed. even the autobackups from friday are screwed up when i open them.

i cant just simply move the moved items, because they are all centered at 0,0,0. its not like half of the items were selected and uniformly moved.

Which version of Max are you using? I know when we switched to 2009 Design, we crashed all over the place left and right. We had to install the hotfix that was released before SP1 came out which resolved "most" of the crashing.

For what it's worth, Pixel
