I use Itoo Forest and Opacity foliage to keep my renders manageable, but lately I’ve been wondering about Vue or other landscape Apps that have plug-ins for MAX.
VUE xStream from E-on looks especially interesting. Maybe I’m uninformed, but does this work interactively and easily with MAX? How about if the entourage is very simple; not a fantasy rain forest/Himalayan countryside? It would be nice to have some interesting entourage. What other forms of 3d foliage are there that keep frame renders down to a deadline-friendly minimum? I've seen some foliage renders from BioNat or EASY Nat, but the polycount still seems to be very high. How can I get good LOD for foliage? If I'm upping the poly count with a landscape generator, does that rule out, completly, the use of optimized GI? Thanks, Gary |
