I saw this over at Slashdot and thought someone might find it useful. It shows you how to convert Windows Server 08 into a power workstation OS as an alternative to Vista, with a significant jump in performance and stability. It's well worth reading.
http://www.win2008workstation.com/wordpress/ An article by an InfoWorld columnist who's been using the OS for four months... http://weblog.infoworld.com/enterpri...ation_200.html NB: Server 08 costs about 4-6x that of Vista, the performance gains are reportedly about 10% more CPU... do some calculations, it may be economical for you. Microsoft does sell multiple licences so saving some money on license fees is possible. |

Good reading!
Had anyone experience Max with this setup? Looks like a stable solution for workstation and render farm.
