Hi All
I have landed a job from a UK based company and I was wondering what the normal fees are in the UK. I wouldn't want to sell myself short or undercut the market so any insight would be greatly appreciated. I need to quote on stills both interior and exterior and an interior animation. I have attached an example of my work to for you to gage the quality. Thanks |

do a few searches on the site forums for rates and prices
but it really does range i have seen some extortionate prices for unprofessional work and some relatively cheap prices for great work and vice versa. heres an example, i had a meeting with a guy from a company the other day to do an animation for him, just a nice simple walkthrough of a building. he showed me what he was currently using and the animation that had been done for him. lets just say it wasn't the best. i asked him how much he paid for this 3minute animation (it was a very slow walkthrough) and he said it had cost him £45,000 and yes i have typed that correctly Aparently the guy told him that it had taken 150 hours, the majority of which i reckon was rendering time. So i shall leave you to work out how much the guy who did the animation was earning per hour and yes it does equate to £300 per hour. So it really does vary here in the UK hopefully other people can help you because i have just read my post back and it actually isn't that helpful in the slightest |

Thanks Dave
I appreciate the response. In SA R300 and hour is a bit low for an hourly rate, but you also can't include render time in your hours. Do you think that £500 is a fair price for an interior still? |

£500 is not enough for a still, unless you are a beginner. Your night shot looks good, If I was you Id be working out a daily rate and doing your pricing from that once you have worked out what costs you have and how much you need to make a profit. 300 per hour is not right its more like 300 per day if you are working alone / freelance. |

Hello there...and excuse me...do you mean 500 pounds for a still image,as a room? Let's say a complete living room? Or 300? Are you guys being serious? I'm completely stunned.

I work as a Design Visualiser in the UK (in the south-west, so London area is more expensive) and the company charge for us £60 an hour, and to do an exterior shot it will take us between 2 to 3 days
