Default Circular Ball

Hi can anyone help? I have imported a sphere from sketchup and when I render in cinema 4d the sphere appears to be made of a number of squares. The same happens if I produce the same model in archicad. I render in cinema 4d but can not model with this program hence why the sphere is made in sketchup. For a better understanding I have attached an image of the edited sphere to illustrate the problem.

If anyone can tell me how to correct this issue that would be great.

Kind regards

Tom

Take the imported ball object and drop it into a hypernurbs object in C4D... drop meaning making the ball object a child in the hierarchy of the Hypernurbs. The parameters in teh hyper nurbs will allow you to smooth. May not work perfect, but there are always ways around imperfection

Have you optimised the model after import???

Do you have a phong tag on it???

Also you do not have enough facets in your model coming from Sketch up...

Modelling this in c4d will take seconds though... just create a sphere up the segments in the attributes till you get a good round object... Make it editable(press C) loop select the loops you want to push in... (press ul)
Then press d and click and drag on the screen somewhere.... not on the object though....

Regards

Lee

Did you try right clicking in sketchup, and using the smoothing options.
