Here some info i think everyone will be interested in.

From Discreets website
--------------------------------------------------
Discreet 3ds max Extensions
As a Discreet Subscription member, you can benefit from unique software features. Released periodically, Discreet® Extensions are downloadable software modules that enhance your Discreet software, providing you with new specialized functionality immediately after it is developed. You benefit from leading-edge capabilities, convenient implementation without disruption to ongoing projects, a shorter learning curve, and lower training costs.

Discreet is pleased to release its first product extension, exclusively for 3ds max™ subscription customers.

3ds max Design Extension
The Design Extension consists of a robust set of tools for undertaking design visualization projects. Virtually all specialized design functionality included in Autodesk® VIZ 4 will now be accessible directly from within 3ds max 5 software. This includes the unique DWG Linking feature that allows 3ds max customers to further leverage 3D design data created with any DWG-based CAD application such as AutoCAD® or Autodesk Architectural Desktop™.

Other valuable features subscription customers will obtain from the Design Extension include:

Architectural Objects - Easily create and modify complex architectural elements such as walls, doors, windows, stairs and railings

Foliage Objects - Add a wide variation of realistic 3D vegetation to your scenes by parametrically controlling the appearance of 13 plant species included in the foliage library

Luminaires - Create specialized assemblies that represent the geometry, mechanics and photometric performance of any lighting fixture

Two-point perspective camera correction modifier - Automatically generate a two point perspective view from any camera. Two-point perspective (that maintains parallel vertical lines) is a classic representation for architectural rendering

Panorama Exporter - Generate 360 degree panoramic renderings suitable for interactive presentation using QuickTime® VR or other panoramic browsers

Region Net Render - Improve productivity by using the 3ds max network rendering system to create single frame high resolution images.

Well,

it was in the news on CGarchitect on november the 8th and the link to it is:

http://www.discreet.com/subscription/

Subscription is only available when you are currently running MAX5/VIZ4 or you live in the USA, Canada, or mainland Europe

just read and sign up... I think subscription goes through your local reseller of your copy of MAX

I ordered my copy of MAX 5 online, so I do not have a reseller. I have tried to get in contact with resellers in my area but I haven't had luck at all.
