I apologize Tom. After re-reading my last reply, I realized it may have sounded condescending. That was not my intent at all. I was simply trying to gauge your knowledge and experience so that future replies would be understandable.

What William, has been showing you is that almost any feature of Cinema can be key-framed and his solution to a horizontal fade is quite slick. Its certainly a workable way to solve your problem.

However, if you have post-production tools like After Effects, Final Cut, or even Premier, I highly suggest you do this in post. That way you can experiment more freely with the fades and backgrounds without re-rendering your animation.

I agree, you'll get greater flexibility in a post application and this is the first way I would approach it.

I was working on the assumption that Cinema 4D was the only app. available...

Far from it... I'm a SketchUp modeler primarily, but I'm doing more and more in Cinema 4D these days.
