Default Cinema 4D v11

I just downloaded the demo and have been playing with Advanced Render 3 for the last hour. Initial first impression is WOW! WOW! WOW!

THIS is the upgrade I've been waiting for!

Heavy testing starting now

I havent tried it, but people mostly have the same reactions as you!
But I hear people complaining on Cinemas modeling tools, any ideas why?

I've been trying it for about an hour. During which time I've rendered most of the sample scenes and tried a few things myself - which is a pretty impressive render speed jump.

Something I like immediately - the GI system works with the C4D Sky system and the presets and everything in the materials system including the funky shaders seems to work perfectly.

(I think the reason for the complaints about modeling tools must be that there don't seem to be any updates at all to the modeling tools. One thing I would have really liked to have seen would have been a NURBS editor along the lines of what Maya has, but it's still all about the polygons.)

Hi all, just reading your comments. Can anyone tell me if there is a big difference between ar3 and the ar with c4d 10.5? Is it worth upgrading?

hehehe that is the best joke i have heard about cinema. Seriously, cinema rendering have been one of the best in the market and now with ar3 i can say it surpass vray in many aspect. One of them, ease of use. Not to say so of vray with its many parameters,(some vray experts says is easy).

Anyhow, thats why i originally dropped years of max use for cinema - c4d is so nice and friendly to use. max just over complicates itself. as for the AR3 as a render engine - yup, it really is nice and simple to use and understand, especially when compaired to vray, but personally for me it lacks vray's quality. (this is just my own opinion i must stress and by no means wanting to start a which-is-better-rendering discussion)

Define "like Maxwell". I'm always saying that it's not the software doing the work, but to be fair, that doesn't look like Maxwell.

Hey,

I just started with the demo. Where do I find the Advanced Render? I can't seem to locate it in the render settings?

Thanks!
