guys
doing a large render and yes i've read previous posts its crashing with errors such as can't start bucket 3 etc, however the render isn't actually that large 2000x1500 and even with no lights or FG in the scene it is crashing. However, if i render with material override it works, no crashes. which leads me to believe it is a texture/material/bitmap problem. when checking my image files that had been used in the scene, again they weren't that large with the maximum being about 2000x2000 pixels 4mb. its just a strange one guys although max does give the necessary warnign signs of it being memory, and getting black buckets (across the entire scene) but the computer is pretty good, 4gb ram 32bit, quad xeon any ideas, i've tried zaps script to split the render and that doesn't help, it still crashes. i'm gonna keep working on it but i refuse to accept defeat and blame max when it is easier to blame the textures |
