Default Sunset Loft (Update)

Here is the "updated" scene that I did a month or so go. Comments and suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

I think you need more drama in your sky. More contrast & saturation.
The light in the room is too flat. Some dim areas you need.

Smile Re: Sunset Loft

im no expert but seeing as you asked for cc...my first Q is...what time of day are you trying to create?
what i notice is the overall brightness inside the room seems a little too much for that sunlight at dawn/dusk. the sunlight hitting the left wall/tv (also reflecting off the floor under the chair on the right) is far too bright and the incoming angles would place the sun 1-2 hours higher in the sky, not dissapearing over the horizon. also that sunlight reflection under the chair (after passing through glass) is brighter than what's coming in through the open doorway. i understand different perspectives/reflections/pov's, but what's coming from under that chair certainly doesnt look like its coming from that sun outside, the sunlight on the left wall looks as though it must be passing through the ceiling. definately not lining up with where you have positioned your sun. i may be wrong as i dont know your lighting setup, it just looks that way. overall it's an inviting scene, great modelling & texturing but i think you need to get a better balance between indoor and outdoor brightness and ambient lighting.

The modeling is pretty good. The lighting is not bad but the sunset feeling is not present. The light should be very orange along with a skylight that matches the one on your background. Have you tried a HDR image?
Good luck.

Thanks for the comments. I'm starting to wonder if I should tweak the lighting or switch the background image. I will play with the image and post and update soon.

imo the interior looks pretty good as is, of course it would be easier to tweak the background it just depends on what you want to achieve

I really tried to pay attention to detail in this image. It's rendered out at 5500X3500 so the fabric, wood grain and other materials really popped. I guess I needed a fresh set of eyes viewing the image to see what needs to be altered. Thanks.

I think the background needs some attention maybe blur it a little more and increase the contrast. I think the interior is a little too bright. I think by making it a little darker would give it some drama. Nice work though.
