I originally did this as a winter scene. The architect needed the rendering, and it was winter so....
http://www.openrangeimaging.com/test...mp_South02.jpg Then, I got a call saying the architect had taken some summer photographs and needed it changed to summer by 5:00 the next day. The photographs were unusable. The project is a 4 hour drive from where I am. I called around and hired a local photographer to go to the site and get a photograph the next morning. Got the photo by about 11:00. Turned over the summer scene later that afternoon. Here it is below. http://www.openrangeimaging.com/test...h_Summer01.jpg Your comments and critique will much appreciated, as always. Last edited by markf; September 29th, 2008 at 11:52 AM. Very Nice work. Summer shot really sells it. The winter shot would be even better if you put a little snow on the roof.
Don't you just love clients' and their complete non-understanding of how we do our jobs. "Hey, I took this photo on my kids' cellphone. Are you able to use it, and (AND), pull back so we can see the whole mountain (that is not in the shot)....but don't make the house any smaller." grrrr. \"any specific birds you would like to see migrating?" |

Lester,
Thanks for your reply! It made me realize I hadn't put the link to the most recent winter image that had snow on the roof. I edited my post above to correct the link. So the winter shows snow on roof now. That's a funny recap of a typical client photo effort. Do you have any sources for images of birds migrating? |

Nice work.
I think your summer shot is stronger. The snow on the roofs, doesn't look right. It looks like you pasted white on top. Need depth , maybe some SSS? But that summer shot is bang-on! "no not those birds the other ones .... do you have any of those?" too funny

Hi
I definitively think the summer shots looks much stronger that the winter one and I bet you spent more time doing the winter..... I agreed with Christopher, the snow in the roof looks like it has been pasted, you need some depth. Another point, I don't know if is just me, but it seems that the model camera is a bit higher than the real camera |

Thank you all for your helpful comments. I agree with the snow on roof. I originally did it without any snow on roofs. Then I quickly added some snow to see how it would look. I will do this differently and ,hopefully, better next time.
