I'll be getting the new version soon for the business i work for, and was wondering where the cheapest place to buy it would be.

Anyone know?
Thanks.

I would reccomend that you NOT buy it...... At least not until they've finished with the Gamma version and release a full working version.

I've had a ridiculous amount of problems using version 4.0...... I would have been much better sticking with 3.9.

just my opinion of course........

i agree w/ chris_mac.

version 4 has potential, but is buggy and slow right now when compared to 3.9 or 3.9.5. during the 3.9 release formz reached a certain level of maturity, where the bugs were worked out, and the engine was well tuned. formz is now trying to go to the next level with version 4. it is going to take a little while to iron out the bugs, and get everything running as smoothly as it was in 3.9. not only was 4 a major step, but it was also a re-write from the ground up.

anyway, i would highly recommend buying 3.9 used. formz does not sell it anymore, but you might be able to find it on ebay or somewhere like that. then in maybe a year, inquire about upgrading to version 4.

I strongly recommend Architect's Toolbox.

http://www.archtool.com/pages/fzsales.html

They offer a good discount but, more importantly, they include their own customized interface which makes Form•Z DRAMATICALLY easier to learn and use. I can't overstate how much their interface helped my efficiency and productivity. They also offer excellent classes in Form•Z. Hope this helps,
Jack

Thats a good idea. I checked ebay and didn't see any versions for sale.

Anyone know where I might get a used version of Z, maybe 3.9.5?

Livin

I am an authorized formZ reseller in NYC. Every copy of formZ we have sold in the Gamma period includes v 4.0 gamma and v 3.9.5

I've been using 4.0 in my work lately but have recommended to most clients that they install 3.9.5 when doing primarally architectural work on windows. The license you buy now will include a free upgrade to the final shipping version of 4.0.

If you'd like any further info please ask.

I'm pretty sure you'll have to find a used copy somehow. I'm uncertain if that's possible with their licensing. Checkout the website first and search for license transfers.
