Thumbs up

Thanks for the model, its great. Just wondering if there is a way to get all the materials that Sanzpont used in the rendering. I was going to try my luck with Max 5's lightracer, but it would be easier to compare if all the same materials were included. I'd really like to see the setup on the glass and water as well. They both look awesome in the renderings. Any help would be much appreciated.....thanks all.

Hi Jason... All the material are the same as the renders... In exception of:

Glass and Water.// Sorry but I needed to convert them to standard, cause not everyone use Brazil Materials...

Thats cool, I was just wondering how you set them up. I have read a bunch of posts with different techniques, ie a mix with falloff and raytrace etc etc etc, but was wondering how you normally set yours up. I also dig the caustics reflection off the metal. Were you trying to do that or was it just one of those happy accidents we all love so much. I'll stick with textures I got from you and try some test renders with lightracer. I'll post them when I get a chance. I've got a dinosaur laptop so it may take awhile. Thanks again for the model.

ok, here is my try with VIZ4
let me know what you think, the back drop needs a little bit more of blending work,

hey cesar what set up in viz 4 did you use. Sunlight with sky light, ies sun.... Basically what were your settings for...well everything important in the radiosity solution. Also how long did it take to run the calc and render. Only reason I ask, is that I may try to use the radiosity engine in Max 5 instead of lightracer to see which one is faster/looks better. Oh and it looks great by the way.
Thanks....

You mean you photographed the replica? Is there any way to alter the textures so that it resembles the original? Photoshop/alter the photo's of the replica or color scans from the original pavillion?

[/quote]We took the textures by photographing (the walls, floors...) the building... on site, in original Barcelona Pavillion.
The colour of the textures rendered in the scene isn´t exactly, because it is rendering with 100% white skylight and 100% white sun light, loosing the original color... like the one sanzpont did
Thx for the interest.

That's me, I couldn't resist myself sitting there for a photograph

So these pictures where shot at the replica... The 'original' was torn down only about half a year after the world exhibition. Luckely the pavillions original site was still unbuild so the replica is now at it's original site. (Every color image of the BP is from the replica, because color-photography was not invented/available at the time of the exhibition yet)

Btw, for those who have seen this work in real life: the building on top of the stairs was build in the same year as the Barcelona Pavillion itself... shocking!!??!?!
