Those interested in Barcelona Pavillion should read "El horror cristalizado" de Josep Quetglas. A teacher in Barcelona's Architecture University. Those who'd read this book will understand what I'm going to say.

Markus images are great... But, there's one thing missing. The reflections on the stone walls. And the statue is not facing the right direction (I think).

I am a Mies-freak, I know...

Hi Erevan,

thanks for the nice words and for keeping this thread alive - and yes the book is interesting! as for your remarks, have a look at this photo http://www.jessiequan.com/barcelona_pavilion.htm (or others) to see that the statue is facing the right direction and that there are not that much reflections visible on the marbles. this is because at least outside and athmospherically exposed marbles undergo a sort of slightly corrosive process that, together with dust depositing on the surfaces reduces any reflections to a minimum.

cheers

markus

You're right, Markus, you're the Mies freak, I think...
But I think that personally I would make those stones as if the pavillion was just finished.

Saludos
