Took me a long time but here it is.

The goal here is for OPTIMIZATION.

Here are the guidelines.

1. Render with as few GI samples and Photons as possible
2. Post the textured and or untextured render
3. Post / share your settings and the source files
4. You are not limitted to using just 1 sunlight (direct) and a skylight. Other lighting techniques are also welcome.

Sample Render:



Settings:
1 MR Area Spot (Direct)
Energy: 800000
GI Photons: 360000

1 skylight

GI Photons: 3600 radius .36
Photon Volume samples 3600 radius .36

FG: 3000 samples max/min 12/0.12

here's my first attempt.

settings:

gi 500 radius .4m
g.i./caustic volume samples 100 radius .4m

fg 1500 max = .3
min = .03

global light settings
energy = 1600000
decay = 1.6
gi photons 500000

light set-up
1 mr area target spot
multiplier = 2
color = pale yellowish

sky light = default

render time = 13mins:15 sec on a P4 3.0 ghz Hp pavilion Laptop with HT

here's my second try but this time with materials.

here are my render settings:

mr area spot( spot )
multiplier 2.0

skylight = 1

g.i. settings
photons = 3000 radius 1.2m
samples = 3000 radius 1.2m

fg samples = 2000 max radius = 1.0
min radius = .1

global light settings
energy = 1600000
decay = 1.6
photons = 1000000

rendertime = 1:25:12 ???on my 3.0ghz laptop with HT..could have been faster
using my dual xeons.

will optimize and post settings later on.
