Brazil took about an hour over 2 dual athlon 2000+ machines but it was only so slow because I was rendering with lightscape and doing some heavy photoshop worl at the same time lol

Lightscape took about 20 minutes but remember the computer was under serious load

Lightscape with raytracing
settings to quality of 4 out of 5 on wizard, not much else with optimization, calc in background for about 12 mins on Ath 1G (also doing images in Photoshop)

you can see some artifacts around the post base because of the different sized polys causing meshing differences, and the raytracer makes for some harsh edges.

hi all,
here it is my first try....
p3 650 | 512mb ram

1- wizard level 1 (process: 2.5 mins | raytrace: <1 min)

result:

2- custom (process: 30 mins | raytrace: <1 min)
- face floor refined

result:

i think all the packages are doing a great job here, i am only curious about subdivision mesh size of your models....it would be great if you can post it.

i am thinking about adding some glass piece in the middle of this space (like a table or something)....why is that???....because i really love the glass material made by LS and i would like to see yours...what do you think?

lets refine the models now, doing it perfectly...
dont forget to post your parameters (it is really important)

best to all,
nuno

I also did a bit of work on the surface parameters in an attempt to improve on the first pics I posted. I set higher meshing values, and varied the values to account for the sizes of the polys. I let this solution run to 100% which took six or seven hours, raytracing, like before, took about 15 seconds with medium anti-aliasing in the GUI. (Command line would be twice as fast, but typing in the command would take longer).
Wizard 4 Sun Direct Ray Trace
Sky not Direct Ray Trace
AA 4

Note: I had to adjust the sun position of 346 to 194 to get my images to agree with those from other renderers.

Ok, guys this is my image in LS. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong (besides the position of my sun) but the colums need more meshing the entire more it at 1 with execption of the back wall wich I upped to 4 to get the light ray to be as straight at posible (edges). calculation took about 20min and rendered fairly quick. Ahlon MP 1900+ 512MB Ram.

Thanks for this oportunity to do something fun !
