hi all,
i have been wondering..., and i thought maybe we (all) could do a simple test of light results comparison and share our technics how we did achiev the results. what i mean is..., there is a model (simple one), and then...with any software we use, we could do a test of light distribution (radiosity | gi | fakeiosity). so, the goal is....share as many tips and technics as we can in lighting distribution and see what is the software that do the more realistic lighting ( brasil | fr | vr | mr | max/viz rad | ls | or simply fakeiosity ) well...what do you all think about this? here are the model files: model.dwg model.dxf sun position: (rotation 346 degrees | elevation 23 degrees) note: 1 - as a rad/gi artist, use just the sun and the sky as a light source 2 - as a fakeiosity artist use as many lights as you want 3 - use only a simple white material for the whole model 4 - do the best light distribution you can best to all, nuno

I think the model is in meters.. isn't it? it's important to know the scale units of the model.
can you put it a max file or 3ds... with the white material already applied and with the light of the sun ? it would be easier for everybody. [ December 13, 2002, 06:11 AM: Message edited by: HeDaCoM ] |

hi asim,
excellent start...i will post a test at the end of the day. ...tell us about your settings, like mesh refinement and other aspects that you may consider relevant. thank you for the reply, i hope we could learn even more how to achiev the perfect light... to Kib: what makes you choose this or that software...??? i just want to know their capabilities, that´s all... if anybody doesnt feel with the right knowledge in his own package to do this simple test, dont need to participate in this topic but must follow it. best to all, nuno
