Here's what i think: there's too much color bleed in the room and the models are too edgy. try desaturating the colors a bit. You can adjust it in the color mapping section of the Vray renderer or post process it in PS. You might also want to soften the edges of the models by chamfering it or a fillet operation. It looks like it can cause a nosebleed.

my 2 cents.

It might help to add a little more raytrace on the metal objects and glass like the sink and rack above the sink and picture frames. I would also think about putting a background out side the window those two little clouds in the background make the apartment seem like it is on the 100th floor of some building.

It loks good so far. In addition to the other comments, counters are not built the way you have the shown. Make the wall they are on deeper, like 24" and it will reduce the overhang of the counters. The overhang should be like 12" or so. Round the corners of the counters. I think it would be a nice touch to add a foot rest going around the counter, maybe brass. Add some reflection to the counter tops, and adjust the mapping of the wood.

Are those light fixtures in the soffet? Take a look at lighting those, just to show that they are lights.

The window trim on the far window looks very bright. I would tone that down along woth the plant. The plant looks too bright. Everything else looks nice.

One last thing, look at each individual object in the room. Examine the properties of the objects. By properties, I mean reflectiveness, shadow, texture, bump, color, etc. Just chaek to make surre the objects have real world properties.

Good Luck.

IMO, having direct sunlight in the scene would add depth. Therefore there will be areas receiving sunlight, areas in shade, and in shadow so there will be more contrrasts and variations.

Besides the dayglow plant, the wood grain is going the wrong direction on some surfaces, IE: the picture frame, it makes it obvious that it's a map thrown on...

Getting there!
