Hi all!
Does anybody know of somewhere a comprehensive list of material reflectance values can be obtained as a guide / reference for creating materials when using radiosity? I have found the basic overview of values in the help files which come with viz and max but feel they are a very rough guide. As a relatively inexperienced radiosity user i feel i have developed a good overview of the concepts and areas to pay attention to, but am now lacking the details of these elements which will make a great difference to the quality of images i'm can produce. Thanks, James |

Honestly, I've found the types of architectural materials in VIZ 5 to be good in most cases, though occasionally I will turn down the color bleed or reflectance in the advanced lighting override rollout, if there is too much.

Hi Tom.
Unfortunately i'm using Viz 4 so don't have the architectural material type available for use. I have come across them before in max 6 but would also like to make a set of materials from scratch that i know are suitable for continual use. I'm also on a step learning curve at the moment and i feel that such information as reflectance values could be of great benefit as reference and a way of checking that one of the many elements which effect the radiosity solutions are correct. Thanks James. |

Hi James,
This will help you a lot (see Dave Buchhofer's replies): http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/showth...ht=reflectance
