Default mapping gizmo transformation !!??

is it possible to transform the mapping gizmo (uvw map) with help of modifiers like bend etc?. for example, i made a box and applied the box mapping. now if i apply the bend modifier, mapping also bends. I want to do same to the mapping gizmo without affecting the geometry. any ideas if it doesn't sound bizzarre !??

hmm... not sure about this...

dont think you can apply a modifier directily to a mapping-gizmo. (atleast not in max 4.2 which I use).

But maybe you can make temporary object, apply the uvw-map-gizmo of choice, apply a bend modifier to the object. Then select your actual model, and aquire the uvw-map from the first temp-object. ? Dont know if this will work but, if your lucky the "bent" uvw-map will transfer to your model.

there was a plugin for MAX a couple of years ago, that did all sorts of things with uvw-gizmos... dont remember what it was called, but If I find out Ill post a link.
