Default PSD Manager antialiasing problem ???

i just got my hands on the psd-manager. tried exporting material layers to psd but unable to figure out how to control the "GAP" between layers (see attchmend). Bringing the backgorund image as layer could be a solution but i think there must be some better method. each layer should be accurate/complete by itself. I tried another plug-in af-exporter which create accurate layers. any tips with psd-manager? thanks in advance.

regards
harjeet

Hi Virses,

I am currently NOT a PSD Manager user but have often thought of becoming one. Every now and then, I experience the same "Fringing" issue when layering renderings in Photoshop after alpha channel isolation. My quick fix for fringes goes like this: (Ctrl + Select the layer), Modify the selection to "Contract" by 1 pixel, Select the Inverse of the selection and Delete. This does a great job of cleaning up "Dirty" Isolation.

However, I realize that in your case, you would have a lot of layers to do this with and there is a possibility of creating Gaps between the layers if too many pixels are removed. If this solution won't work for you, then perhaps you should request some Support for the product. I'd like to know what you find out. -Good Luck

I've run into the same problem. Seems like psd manager is not altogether perfect.

So thats why I keep the original always in the background, so you don't see gaps like that. Works fine as long as you are not making major major changes to your layers. If you are you always end up seeing those 'seams'.

The layers psd-manager produces are perfect antialiased ! There is no antialiasing problem.

The reason why you can look a little bit through the layers where they touch is just that there is no way to create two Photoshop layers that touch each other (so they don't overlap) and still have a clean antialiased edge.

Put a layer on another background and the edges are still clean and sharp. So the antialiasing is perfect. Once you modify the edges of the layer (e.g. Layer > Matting > Defringe) this isn't possible anymore. So depending on what you want to achieve with psd-manager, you may want to apply this Photoshop command afterwards or not.

The layers AF Export channels produces are not antialiased. So it is no wonder that there are no gaps. Using psd-manager and putting the "render" layer below all other layers will still give you better results if you make changes to individual objects.
