Re: Niall Browne - FINAL
I like the sketchy feel to this image eventhough it feels more like a pen and ink drawing. The color palette works well in this instance by evoking a 'rustic Metropolis' feeling to the render. I do not know of the vertical sheer works since that detracts a bit in the composition.
The establishment of light direction and dominance is well done combined with the tonal range is effective. It does however make the image feel claustrophobic. The details are wonderful along with the proper placement of people and non architectural elements including signage. A bit more subtle definition of the sky is warranted however even if the white stark sky works, that patch of greyish green in the sky is a bit distracting. Also some parts of the image can be lightened a bit to give more information like on the ground on the left next to the car, those can be lightened up a bit just to show a hint of detail, a suggestive one only nothing defined.
It is a sucessful image but it lacks the emhasis for a subject matter. It is more of a graphic arts illustration than an arch-vis. It is also a bit hard to discern the materials used in the image even if they are obvious. it is something I expect to see in Soho and in that end you have succeded very well.
