Missing Maps on Merge

I've got one file that I am trying to merge 5 others into. 3 work, the maps show in the viewport and render properly, but the other two only show the maps in the viewport, and when I render, they show up with a dark gray material where the maps should be.

These files render properly before the merge and I am sure that the path is there for the bitmaps.

Any ideas? There are far too many maps to reapply.

It could be a memory problem. Too many bitmaps? What you could try is to Resource Collect the files first to one directory, and merge them from there.

Do you use xrefs? if so, open the xrefs and do a resource collect from them too...
