Im sorry, im new to this forum so i dont know where should i post this. Its about illuminating interiors in general.
I've made a room for testing, it has four walls and a couple of windows on one side. The walls and the ceiling are white while the floor is kinde orange/light brown (parquet).
I've put up a directional light to simulate the sun and i tried rendering it with brazil.
I use both direct and skylight, krank the bounce to about 10 and the results i get are weird.

The part (minimal) that is illuminated gets so much color bleeding its sick, half of the wall turns orange, and sometimes it goes all the way to the ceiling, i guess color bleeding is ok but i've never seen something like that in my room or anywhere. I try fixing this by using that brazil utility mat and making a completly white material to generate GI. But still the rest of the room is pretty dark.

When i tried rendering the same room with max 5 and radiosity, white walls turned out pink. There is a tutorial that ships with max 5, a library that needs to be illuminated, and there is a section called daylight or something. If you saw it you know what i mean. The end result is a completly dark library and a light blue sky outside and the explanation "you'll find this pretty normal in reality..."

Im still modelling the interior of a two story house, when im finished i could post the model or something so someone else can try, is that how things work around here?

Hi Dusan,

if it's max5 --> 3dsmax
if it's brazil --> Third Party Renderers
if you want everyone to have a shot at this (and you want to share the model) --> The Unchallenge
if you're interesting in your own learning process --> The WIP

I would say that 10 bounces are at the extreme end of things in brazil. Try starting out with 1 bounce and work from there. I think what is happening is the floor colour is emitting too many bounces because of this setting.

Well at one its just too dark as expected, parts of the wall on the same side as the window are completly black and the whole room is underlit and dark. At around 9 it kinda looks ok.

I made some test renders of an empty room but ill post a new topic in third party renderers.
